The images on the front page of this website were created by Bill Coyle, a longtime resident of Del Ray. He totes his camera almost everywhere he goes to take advantage of unexpected light and subjects. Lately, he has employed high dynamic range techniques in some of his photography to reduce contrast and bring out image detail. Coyle enjoys photographing local scenes in Del Ray and Old Town among other subjects. The late Clay Huffman of the Torpedo Factory Art Center who specialized in Alexandria images using a meticulous silkscreen process inspired Coyle to draw attention in his photography to the beauty in ordinary subjects in the neighborhood.
He is a member of Del Ray Artisans and sells his work at Show of Hands and though Getty Images.
Coyle can be reached at [email protected]
