On Monday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m., the Friends of Duncan Library and the Duncan Library Poetry Society will host local Alexandria poet Margaret B. Ingraham reading from her book, Proper Words for Birds (Finishing Line Press, 2009) in the meeting room of Duncan Library, 2501 Commonwealth Ave.
Ingraham is the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Award and the 2006 Sam Ragan Award. Her work has been published in more than 50 national and international literary journals. She is also the author of This Holy Alphabet (Paraclete Press, 2009), lyric poems based on her translation from the Hebrew of Psalm 119.
