    • Goals and status of project
    • Design phase complete and turned over to ACPS Facilities
    • Design includes classroom space, solar system, kinder area, learning gardens, soccer field
    • Budget $713K, funding to date $385
    • Timeline
    • Preliminary projects 2 months

    • Revisit Sicilian Pizza proposal
    • Business used to be in the Calvert. Parking sufficient for 4 tables 8 chairs. Overlay zone a few issues (business wants to use backlit sign from previous location)
    • Applicant:  Not a chain but a local business. Workers suffering from loss of business. Never hit a person with delivery. Working with Walgreens for parking their vans.
    • LUC voted 6-1 against SUP: Business out of character for neighborhood. Concerns for safetly and need for future customer parking. Rooftop equipment an eyesore.
    • Amendment by Amy Slack to put conditions (business hours , screening rooftop equipment ):
      • Should Planning Commission recommend supporting SUP, we ask for midnight operating hours,  screening equipment, apply for 15-minute parking spots
      • Amendment carries unanimously
    • Motion from committee: Approve LUC refusal to support SUP
      • Original motion:  Pro 9, against 18, 5 abstentions.
      • Marlin moves to support SUP with the Slack amendment (conditions)

    • Homicide downtown today, active investigation – Patrick and Montgomery
    • Overall crime creeping up probably on account of warmer weather
    • Don’t use Call-Click-Connect service to report crime, call 911!

    • Motion from committee: LUC opposes Custis Ave. subdivision because of loss of contributing structure in the Town of Potomac Historic District. But if approved, recommend single, side-by-side, tandem parking and build in character with neighborhood

      • Presented new draft of proposed bylaws, discussed at may meet. Changes made based on member feedback
        • 1) Move expenditure authority from standing rule back into bylaws
        • 2) Add constraint on Board’s authoioryt to spend up to $500
        • 3) Remove standing rule on changing standing rules. (unnecessary based on Roberts
