Message from Hillary Poole:
Thank you so much to those of you who were able to attend last night’s Monroe Avenue Complete Streets meeting. I thought it was a great meeting and we received so many great comments and helpful suggestions. I’m looking forward to working with you all on this project! The project website can be accessed here: http://alexandriava.gov/localmotion/info/default.aspx?id=74369. I will try to keep the website up to date with any new information about the project.
I wanted to follow up regarding the notices many of you received regarding the curb and sidewalk work to be done in your area (image attached). There was a slight miscommunication, and these flyers were actually not meant to be distributed at this time. There will NOT be curb and sidewalk work done in the next few weeks. This work will be done prior to the resurfacing of Monroe Avenue but likely not until the winter or spring of 2015. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff DuVal, Division Chief of Maintenance at [email protected].
Please feel free to forward this email to neighbors to let them know about the project. If they would like to be on the Monroe Avenue Project email list, they can simply send me a message.
