The City of Alexandria – Department of Transportation & Environmental Services has received a few community requests to install a crosswalk across Leslie Ave at E Nelson. There is no sidewalk on E Nelson, so people must cross the street to walk to Monroe. One parking space will need to be removed in order to install the crosswalk and curb ramp. The proposal will be presented to the Traffic and Parking Board on May 19th to get approval for the removal of this parking space.
