  2. Alexandria Police Department Report, Capt. Dennis Andreas
    1. Trucker Convoy: No impact in ALX thus far
    2. New teen Police Academy accepting applications
    3. Crime
      1. Citywide crime up but in Del Ray crime down from same time last year
        1. 4 larcenies (first catalytic convertor theft in Del Ray from a Honda Element)
        2. 1 felonious assault on Mount Vernon Avenue
    4. Traffic:
      1. Overnight watch: 3 DWI arrests
  3. Alexandria Sheriff’s Office Report, Sheriff Sean Casey
    1. ASO Overview
    2. Correctional Services Advisory Board (CSAB): New Board members sought
    3. Black History Month programming
    4. Jacinta Green heading up reading program at Cora Kelly
    5. April 30: Next Drug Take-back Day (also any time at Neighborhood Pharmacy of Del Ray (2204 Mt. Vernon Ave.)
  4. DRCA Land Use Report, Kristine Hesse, DRCA Land Use Chair
    1. 105/107 Randolph Ave residential subdivision application
    2. Proposal would take part of 107’s backyard
    3. LUC did not support
    4. Motion not to support application for propose subdivision
    5. Votes: 29 in favor not to support, 1 vote opposed
  5. Special Guest: Alexandria School Board member Jacinta Greene
    1. Likes to keep a positive attitude because children are our “most precious commodity”
    2. In 2002 she moved to ALX and started reading program
    3. Literacy a core value and she has been public education advocate
    4. Currently: There is a substitute teacher shortage at ACPS
    5. Covid learning gap? How to make good from what was lost during pandemic?

  6. DRCA GardenFest, Rachel Lazarus, DRCA Activities Director
    1. April 24, from 12 noon to 5 pm: First ever DRCA GardenFest. Free to attend.
    2. To be held at the empty lot beside the old Bean Creative
    3. Some participants already lined up: Beekeepers, Farmers Market, the new POP , Dhalia micro farm in Del Ray (Rangel Farms), Composting, Greenstreet? Master Gardeners
